OMA was recently selected by the New Haven Housing Authority as Design Architect for a proposed 15,000 sq.ft. mixed use retail/residential complex on Wilmot Road in New Haven.
OMA is currently designing twenty units of scattered site transitional housing for non-profit developer Home Inc. The $3,850,000 project is being financed by CHFA with construction scheduled to begin in 2009.
The Lower Naugatuck Valley Chamber of Commerce has given their 2008 Silver Hammer Award to OMA for the construction and renovation of the former Ekhardt Furniture Building in downtown Seymour into an enclave of Retail Boutiques and Senior Housing. The $3,000,000 project which was named 16 Bank Street was funded by CT DECD, FHLB Boston, & NVS&L, was completed in 2008.
Area Congregations Together recognized OMA at its annual meeting for its design of the new Spooner House Emergency Assistance Shelter. The $4,800,000 - 36 licensed bed facility was completed in 2008. OMA wrote the grants which funded the project.
Non profit developer New Neighborhood Initiatives has opened ten units of new workforce housing in downtown Stamford designed by OMA. The $3,000,000 Mission/Taylor project was funded by CT DECD, CHFA, and the City of Stamford.
